Coherent Health welcomes any health + wellness practitioner but is designed with an emphasis on Independent Wellness Professionals (those who are not required to be licensed by their state). You may not. But even if you’re not required to be HIPAA-compliant, you should always store - and share - client notes confidentially. Coherent Health’s level of encryption ensures the security of your client’s information. Plus, it enables you to coordinate care with other, HIPAA-regulated practitioners. For example, a Pilates instructor (who is not required to be HIPAA-compliant) wants to coordinate care with a Physical Therapist (who is required to be HIPAA-compliant), in order to best address their client’s hip pain. To communicate electronically together, the instructor would need to use software that enables HIPAA compliance.
